Our Doctors

Sarah Dugan DVM grew up in Emporia, Kansas on a farm with 20 acres of land and a variety of animals.  Her participation in 4-H as a child gave her experience with dogs, horses, and sheep.  She especially enjoyed training and showing horses and dogs.  One fond memory includes her favorite mare, Good Golly Miss Molly, whom she showed in a trail class. 'She tried to spell out her name with the logs!'

While in high school, Dr. Dugan worked part time at her father's mixed animal practice in Emporia. 'When I got promoted to working as a receptionist, I realized I really enjoyed working with clients and their pets, and I decided I wanted to be a veterinarian.'  Dr. Dugan's decision made her a third generation veterinarian as she comes from a long line of veterinarians including her grandfather, grandfather's brother, father, father's brother, older brother, and sister-in-law.

Dr. Dugan received her DVM from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003 and completed a year-long Large Animal Medicine and Surgery internship at Texas A&M  University. She then spent two years practicing medicine in Thomasville, GA before moving to Wichita.  She has been practicing in the Wichita area for 16 years and joined Oakcrest Pet Hospital in 2022.

Dr. Dugan and her husband, Ryan, a Wichita native, have two children, Max, 16 and Liza, 14. 'We are busy with family,' she says, 'following sports, school activities, and family events in Wichita and Emporia.' Their family also includes two dogs: Enzo, a Chihuahua/Italian greyhound mix ('who can jump waist high') and Portsy, a Jack Russell terrier ('cute, loving, but not the sharpest knife in the drawer').

Dr. Dugan has a special interest in small animal medicine, dentistry and dermatology. She is a member or past member of several professional and community organizations including:

Chelsey Terry DVM grew up around Salina, KS and received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Oklahoma State University.  She enjoys the investigative approach to challenging cases, geriatric patient care, and forming trusting relationships with owners and their pets.

Dr. Terry and her husband, John, met in high school and have been adventuring through life together ever since.  They have 6 dogs at home including 4 Japanese chins and 2 shih tzus - Yadi, Veni, Charlotte, Koji, Ginger, and Gundy.  When she isn't busy taking care of them, Dr. Terry enjoys activities such as gardening, hiking, fishing, and traveling.  She also like attending OSU football games (GO POKES!), exercising, antiquing, and attending red-dirt country concerts.

Edgar Ocampo DVM is also a Wichita native.  He attended East High School and graduated from Wichita State University with a Bachelors of Arts in 2012.  After earning his veterinary degree in 2016 from Kansas State University, he joined the team at Oakcrest Pet Hospital.  Dr. Ocampo brings an array of knowledge and skills to the practice, including being fluent in Spanish.

Dr. Ocampo has a special interest in exotic animal medicine, particularly wildlife conservation.  While attending KSU, he was able to take part in a research study involving flamingos and had a chance to assist in surgery on a blue iguana.  In addition to exotic animal medicine, Dr. Ocampo also enjoys the areas of cardiology and internal medicine.

When he is not working with animals, Dr. Ocampo enjoys hiking with his beautiful wife, Robin, or spending time with their dogs, Charlie, Pickles, and Olive. Dr. Ocampo and Robin also have two cats at home, Max and Piper.  In the future, he wants to travel more and expand his 'furry family.

Dr. Janet Arnet graduated from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2012. Born in Maryland, she moved to her family's farm outside El Dorado, Kansas prior to high school. She is married to her husband, Kevin, and they have two boys together. An avid animal lover, Dr. Arnet's farm is home to two horses, three cats, a dog, chickens and ducks.

In her free time, she enjoys working out, riding her horses and watching football games with her family. Professionally, Dr. Arnet is passionate about preventative care and internal medicine, and she finds great joy in building lasting relationships with her clients and pets.
